I have been painting this forest scene, was quickly happy with the colors, but drawing the shapes of the ferns and other drawing problems came up and forced me to take a long time until I could quit this. At least I learned one way to paint ferns now :)

I was out painting again. A small one today. I had a hard time seeing colors on the paper, and it may have been because my eyes were picking up the reflected light from the paved parking spot. Every time it's something.

#Artown is a month long series of events in Reno-Tahoe area in Nevada. I'm participating several shows and plein air events. I'll be painting at Reno Food Systems farm on Mayberry Dr. today (20th), 4 - 7 pm. I'll probably find a little shade like this on the west edge of the farm. Say hi if you see me! A small weather report for yesterday. We had lovely storms all evening. I went outside with the #watercolour set and captured maybe the first 15 mins of it... Had to pack things up quickly and run back in when the rain started.

A smaller #watercolor #artwork I painted in a forest in the German #Eifel. Just did the finish touches to show at a painting festival. I've put it now in my webshop.

I don't like to look at my #pleinair paintings. I usually put it away and don't look at them for a long time, if ever. But this one that I did in Glenbrook, NV last week had to be finished, as they want us to bring them back for a popup show. pastel on paper, 12x18 in.

I went to a solo #pleinair again today, but didn't get beyond a sketch because of the wind. But I got to watch some wonderful father-and-son interactions. The young boy was working hard to control his offroad bike, and his dad was calm, supportive, reassuring, but wasn't helping. The boy was determined, and was listening to dad. It was a pleasure to watch.

Went for a solo plein air painting in Mayberry Park, Reno, NV on Sunday morning. It was quiet at first, then families and a bunch of men came and went down the stream, tubing and paddle boarding. Everyone was giddy. It was pleasure to watch.

I was out painting again. It was in Tahoe, and it was a plein air event hosted by Latimer Art Club, the oldest art club in the state of Nevada. This was where Lorenzo Latimer and his students, mostly women, came to paint a little over 100 years ago. It's difficult to imagine. But here we are...
