既に日本でも報道されている事件ですが、シャン州タウンジー県ピンラウン郡区ပင်လောင်းမြို့နယ်ナンネイン村နမ့်နိန်းရွာで3月11日に発生した住民・僧侶の虐殺について、ミャンマーの主要民主派メディアから詳報が出ています。被害者の人数には異同があります。

The Irrawaddyも報じていたが、クーデター国軍側はこの事件について、殺害された人々はテロリストだったという宣伝を行っているとの事。遺体のそばに武器を置いて写真を撮る、といった工作も行われているらしい。
