@metteholm yay historical fiction! There's an active book community here. Use #Bookstodon for book posts and follow @bookstodon to see a book feed. A lot of us tag the group in book posts too. There are also lots of writers here, I think they use the tag #WritingCommunity. You can follow hashtags and posts from people with similar interests will show up in your feed and you can follow them.

Stealing an idea from @ Translibrarian@library.love: Perhaps we #bookstodon types should spotlight books which are most likely to be targeted by groups like "Moms For Liberty."
Now reading:
続 明暗
(ぞく めいあん)
1990
by
水村美苗
(みずむら みなえ, Mizumura Minae)
A sequel to Natsume Sōseki’s unfinished final novel 明暗 (Light and Darkness).
I've gotten such fantastic book-mail lately that I'll have to split it all into multiple posts spread across the day today!
First, and very excitingly for my daughter as well as myself, an ARC of the wonderful Holly Webb's upcoming MG mystery A Girl's Guide to Spying, which starts a whole new series.
Obviously, my daughter declared first dibs on reading this, but then I grabbed it back, and I can already tell you that mystery- and adventure-loving kids will love this one!
Trying out #Bookmory, seeing if this is something I like enough to stick with for the long haul. Paid for a year sub (~$23) in order to get pretty purple theming and automatic backups. Already I like the way I can just add books super quickly and manage them without worrying about messing up the database for other folks (or vice versa)

Out today: I have to be careful about what I say. My plea bargain is stricter than the rules under which I lived within barbed wire. https://www.texasobserver.org/reality-winner-memoir-excerpt/
Happening next month. Reading with a bunch of writers. Montreal.
Challenge: "Name 20 female authors you admire, 1 per day."
Day 4: Katie Mack: The End of Everything (Astrophysically Speaking)
I haven't read this YET, but she is someone I admire. She's a theoretical cosmologist, with lots of accolades for someone her age, and she used time during the covid lockdowns to get her pilot's licence.

And she still has one of the most memorable twitter takedowns.
