I don’t often celebrate a death…but in Dobson’s case, I’ll make an exception. This old white man, and others like him, are/were a scourge, filled with righteous hate for all those who aren’t exactly like them.

Wayne Besen, the director of Truth Wins Out - an LBGTQ+ advocacy organisation that often sparred with Dobson - said in a statement that he "used faith as a cudgel to bludgeon vulnerable communities, spread disinformation and inject toxic bigotry into the bloodstream of American culture". #evangelicals #christians #ConservativeChristianity #religion #hate #bigotry #LGBTQIA #LGBTQ

The way RFK spoke about people autism wasn't only insanely ill-informed, but also the single most bigoted thing I've heard in probably over a decade that passed the acceptability filter of main stream media.

Anybody who studied pathology learned about how tuberculosis used to define the human condition. It was public health, NOT morality, that resolved centuries of a TB pandemic.

The fact that chronic illness is NOT a moral failure is one of those most basic concepts in actual Medicine.

So when ppl like RFK, himself inflicted by chronic illnesses, moralize about health, they put their own character and lack of self-awareness on a grotesque display.

Authors flee LGBTQ book awards for nominating J.K. Rowling’s transphobic friend lgbtqnation.com/2025/08/author

The #PolariPrize people basically wussed out: “We do not eliminate books based on the wider views of a writer, we regret the upset and hurt this has caused,” adding, “We can at times hold radically different positions on substantive issues.”

They basically chose dehumanizing over standing for principle.

It pains me to remember how recently a powerful and beloved person could make such casually homophobic remarks and be met with laughter and applause — from a presumably liberal, cinephile audience.
