Brass Construction. Changin'
This semi-instrumental track from Brass Construction is typical of their brass (of course) heavy arrangements but delivers a great punch, with its brilliant bass-led groove chanted vocals & mesmerising groove.
If you like this then also check out Movin' from the same (debut) album...
incidentally the bass line on Changin' provided the key sample for Jill Scott's brilliant Gimme!
This song is just delightful. I hope it brings a little joy to your day or night.
It’s “Bless the Telephone” by Labi Siffre, if it’s unfamiliar to you.

I'd never seen the complete music video for this fantastic (pre-Underworld) track. I never hear this in 80s mixes and it makes me sad.

OMG i’ve colombused @music-news-RollingStone 500 best (popular #music, varied genres) songs of all time and am kinda salty that Billy Joel’s ‘Scenes From an Italian Restaurant’ isn’t in the top 10. that song is so iconic of 1970s nyc, should be higher (it’s #325)
am not even half-way and Prince has 3 in the bottom 300.
still salty people think your favorite rocker’s song (it’s in the list) is about a white woman and not me. half his lyrics are my words.
