Some held children & waved small American flags they were given upon arrival, along w/red, white & blue ballons, festooned to the walls. #Trump has said the #Afrikaners are facing racial discrimination due to a land redistribution #law that seeks to correct an imbalance in property ownership stemming from 4 decades of #apartheid rule. No land seizures have been carried out.

But Trump claimed [lied] Monday that a genocide was taking place in #SouthAfrica.

In addition to ties w/ #DesmondTutu, the #EpiscopalChurch has a long history of advocating against #apartheid in #SouthAfrica. It first began altering its financial holdings in the region in 1966, & by the mid-1980s, the church voted to divest from companies doing business in South Africa.

Rowe noted his announcement comes as the #Trump admin has otherwise all but frozen the #refugee program, w/ #Afrikaners among the few—& possibly only—people granted entry as #refugees since Jan.

#Trump has halted virtually all #refugee admissions for people fleeing #famine & #war from places like #Sudan & the Democratic Republic of #Congo. But he has created an expedited path into the country for #Afrikaners, a #white ethnic minority that created & led the brutal #apartheid regime in #SouthAfrica.

The refugee process often takes years. But only 3 months have passed from the time Trump signed an EO establishing refugee status for Afrikaners….

Infine ho visto il film #NoOtherLand.

Praticamente tutto il girato è precedente al famigerato #7ottobre col quale #Israele vorrebbe giustificare la propria interminabile rappresaglia su #Gaza e sul resto della #Palestina.

Il documentario mostra come le violazioni del diritto internazionale, le squadracce di coloni che con la violenza e la protezione dell'esercito vessano la popolazione vittima di #apartheid, siano pratica continua e diffusa da ben prima di quell'attacco.
